Bridal Bliss Box: June Glamourbox Experience

Because I got so pumped with the first box I received, I subscribed to the next one. I’ve made it a point to take detailed photos of this box since I failed to do so with the first box. I might have overdone it but here’s what I got.

Bridal Bliss Box: June Glamourbox Experience

I know June is known as the wedding month but I’m not sure it’s true here in the Philippines. One thing I’m sure about June is that wet season is  here. We have sun and a lot of rain here so when i received my first Glamourbox, I thought, “hey! This is a great start! Green products for my sensitive skin!” When I received my second box, I thought “Cool! I’ve got hypoallergenic products!” After some time, it dawned on me that the products doesn’t seem to be something representing a June bride, not even a wedding for that matter. I felt a little disappointed. What’s so “wedding-y” with this box?

Bridal Bliss Box: June Glamourbox Experience

Anyway, so I rummaged through the box and yup! Hypoallergenic products it is! I have VERY dry skin, not to mention very sensitive skin so I was feeling so-so with the items in the box.

  1. Mustela Physiobebe No-Rinse Cleansing Fluid
  2. Physiogel Intensive Cream
  3. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Complete UV Moisture Sunscreen
  4. Barenaturals Skin Perfecting Primer
  5. Barenaturals Lip Stix in I Love You this Smooch
  6. Nippon Esthetics Solutions Facial Cleansing Sponge
  7. Isis Pharma Dermatologi Teen Derm Gel
  8. Plana Forma Voucher

Bridal Bliss Box: June Glamourbox Experience

When I checked the site, I saw that the product list included Ofra Eyeshadows. I know that Glamourbox personalizes each box to cater to the client’s beauty profile and needs so not everything on the list is in the box. There were two shades of eye shadow so I’m just wondering why I didn’t receive one.

I’ve tried 4 from the products and made separate reviews for them. I’m afraid I won’t be able to use the Plana Forma voucher since it’s only in Manila but I’ve been posting it on my Facebook page for anyone who wants it. I’m willing to send it to them. The Neutrogena will have to wait since all we’ve got is a lot of rain! As for the Physiogel, maybe later.

Overall, the box is disappointing. I expected something more colorful and something more wedding-y! I don’t know. I’m just not satisfied with this box and thinking of skipping the next subscription.

REVIEW: MOX Botanical Lip Butter in Coconut Almondine

Another green beauty product from Glamourbox’ April Box. I’ve never heard of the brand or seen any other product from them. I felt like the box really came at the best time because I was determined to start looking pretty again. (Let’s just say I let myself go after I got pregnant) LOL. This product was a great partner to the Pixi Magic Tint. I used the Pixi during the day and used MOX at night before I sleep.

REVIEW: MOX Botanical Lip Butter in Coconut Almondine

I love the buttery smell. I mean, it’s true to its name because you can almost taste the butter and coconut. I also like how it feels since it’s not greasy and it feels like my lips were actually absorbing the product. By morning, my lips doesn’t feel as dry as it used to be. Also, it minimized the cracking.

REVIEW: MOX Botanical Lip Butter in Coconut Almondine

I was just a little concerned about the packaging since it wasn’t sealed when I received it. I’m hoping it was really how it was packed and that I’m not the one who received an unsealed product. It’s a good product and one I would want to have again but as of the moment, it’s a little bit pricey for a lip balm. Although I’m dying to try their Yakima Valley Peppermint. *tempted*

REVIEW: MOX Botanical Lip Butter in Coconut Almondine

It’s available from Glamourbox for 740 Php and they have three flavors available: Black Plum and Fig, Butter in Coconut and the Yakima Valley Peppermint. If you’re in the U.S however, I’ve checked their site and you can have it for $16. Same flavors as well and it’s in a 2 oz. container. The sample I received was a 1 oz. container. If you’re not sure on what to try, you can grab their sample box for $9. It has 3 sample sizes of lip balms and 3 sample sizes of their perfume collection!

My First Glamourbox: April’s GREEN BEAUTY

I learned about Glamourbox from a Facebook friend. She posted the box right after she received it but didn’t post photos of what was inside. Not knowing what was inside the box piqued my curiosity so I Googled ‘glamourbox.’ I found their site and decided to get a one month subscription. I’m not a makeup person and I’m really just a newbie when it comes to makeup and other cosmetics.

Here are my reasons for not using makeup before:

  • No one else at home wears makeup, I had no role model.
  • I wasn’t working so I had no money to spend on makeup products.
  • I have no idea how to use them.

But, now that I’m an adult and intend to make myself presentable at all time, I think it’s high time I learn a little bit more about makeup. Anyway, I got the impression it was what you get from the Glamourbox. So, on with my first subscription!

Glamourbox April Go Green

It arrived some time 1st week of May and I wasn’t disappointed. For what I paid for, the products in the box were worth it and more! The subscription costs 595 Php for each box. I was looking at products worth more than 1,500 Php. The deal’s not bad at all!

I like the idea of the April box since it was named Green Beauty. It gives you this idea of natural, organic and safe beauty products! These are what I got from my box (They send out different products depending on the client profile):

  1. Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm Magic Tint – Happy Thoughts Pink
  2. MOX Botanical Lip Butter in Coconut Almondine
  3. Mir and Ryvi Banana Soap
  4. Droplets of Nature Beauty and Bright Moringa Soap
  5. Hollywood Style Light Summer Lotion
  6. Regatta Leisure for Women
  7. Regatta Leisure for Men

Overall: I’d say the box was “okay-ish.” The only product I didn’t use from the 7 listed above is the perfume testers. I gave it out to friends to try it since I’m a loyal Calvin Klein Eternity addict.

Good to say I wasn’t disappointed with my first Glamourbox experience that I subscribed to another box! Will talk about it soon! Oh! and because I’m new to this, forgive me if I don’t have great photos! Will do better on the next box!

REVIEW: Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm Magic Tink Tint – Happy Thoughts Pink

My personal favorite from Glamourbox’ April Box! I’ve never heard about Pixi to be honest! Prior to receiving the box, I haven’t been using lip balm. I think the last time I applied lip balm was a year ago. I don’t use lipstick as well because I have a nasty habit of licking my lips constantly when wearing lipstick. (I didn’t take a photo of it before I opened it so I’m borrowing a photo courtesy of

REVIEW: Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm Magic Tink Tint – Happy Thoughts Pink

The product has a very long name so I’d like to call it Pixi Lip Balm for the sake of this review. What I love about the Pixi Lip Balm are the following:

  • It moisturizes my lips.
  • It gives a light pink color to my lips which looks natural.
  • You can twist the bottom to let out the lip balm.
  • It lasts so there’s no need to re-apply numerous times over the day.

Let me explain a little bit more about my points above. I haven’t been moisturizing my lips so it has a dry and cracked feel. When I used the Pixi Lip Balm, my lips immediately felt very soft. I’m not pulling your leg! It really made my lips very soft. I didn’t notice the tint until later. My sister mentioned my lips being pinkish so I got a tissue paper and dabbed it on my lips. That’s when I realized it gave my lips a lively color.

The twist-y thing in the bottom made it possible for me to carry the Pixi Lip Balm in my bag. My son broke the cover to I was concerned about leaving the balm exposed to dirt. Also, that would mean I won’t be able to bring it around with me. But I took out one of my old eye liner’s cover and fitted it in. It wasn’t long enough to cover the balm but when I realized I can twist it at the bottom to pull it back in, the make-shift cover worked well!

Lastly, unless I drink juice or coffee, eat one full meal or smear cupcake icing on my lips, the tint really stays on. I only re-apply it during the day to moisturize but basically, the tint lasts.

I’ve recommended this to my closest friends and I practically can not stop talking about it! It’s a little expensive but I totally feel it’s worth it! Also, did I mention that I love how this brand has a fairy theme! I’ve always dreamed of getting a fairy tattooed in my back. My twitter name is dtallestfairy and I used to be called fairy by my two best friends. What can I say? I love fairies!

All in all, this product gets an A from me! It’s worth every cent and should the one I have run out, you can bet I’m buying another one!

I work mostly at night since that when my creative juices flow through my brain. While I get more things done compared to working in the morning or afternoon, I also suffer the consequences of sleepiness during day time, grumpiness and not to mention dark circles under the eyes.

Review: Etude House Mint Eye's Cream

I’m used to waking up at 6 or 7 in the morning. It’s automatic and as much as I’d like to stay under the covers, my body just won’t let my lazy ass stay in bed longer. So, you can imagine how much sleep I lack and how puffy my eyes get. I’ve been looking for a product to relieve the dry feeling around my eyes and something that can lighten the darkness too.

Review: Etude House Mint Eye's Cream

I checked Etude House in our only mall here and asked for a product that’s great for the eyes! They showed me this, the Mint Cooling Eye’s Cream and it costs 428 Php. Yes, you read that right. It’s EYE’S CREAM and for a reason.

Review: Etude House Mint Eye's Cream

Downside of having a Korean product sold here in the Philippines is that most salesman or saleswoman meant to help you through their product line knows absolutely as much as you do. I had no help from the person “assisting” me when I asked about ingredients or the difference from the Vanilla Moist Eyes Cream. So, judging from what I know, one gives a cooling effect while the other moisturizes.

Review: Etude House Mint Eye's Cream

As a fan of minty candies, chocolates, soaps and others, I chose the MINT COOLING EYES CREAM. It has great packaging and on the first night I used it, my eyes felt great! Like I can stay up longer than usual. I re-applied twice that first night and after waking up, applied it again. I like how the minty feeling cools my eyes and how it keeps it feeling moisturized.

Review: Etude House Mint Eye's Cream

I can also apply it over my face even when I’m wearing foundation and it doesn’t ruin anything. I use it about 3-4 times in a day and haven’t run out yet. It’s been a month and a half and my stick’s still good! I have yet to see its effect on the dark circles but I’m perfectly satisfied with the cooling effect it gives when I’m working late at night. I’ll be looking for another product for the dark circles as this one doesn’t help much!

Review Etude House Mint Eyes Cream

What it says in their site is that it unclogs pores and smooths skin. It’s a water-soluble moisturizing agent with low alcohol content. I like the part where it says it cleanses and soothes the skin without irritation and that it’s suitable for acne-prone skin. Thumbs up for this product! Looking forward to trying out more from their line but will make sure to read on their products ahead before visiting their store!

Review: Essence of Beauty Body Cream

The perks of having a single aunt living in the States is that she gets the time to buy goodies for us back home in the Philippines. One of the best finds I’ve taken out from the box she sent out last Christmas is the Body Cream by Essence of Beauty. For some reason, I can’t seem to find this product online anywhere except from one eBay seller.

Essence of Beauty Naughty or Nice Body Cream

It had a tagline “naughty or nice” so I’m assuming this is a product sold only for the Christmas season. First impression after opening the container, didn’t like the smell. It was cinnamon-y, ginger-y and too strong for my liking. I set it aside for a couple of months until my sibling decided to give it a try. Because of the smell, she didn’t use it as a regular body cream. Instead, she used it as a night cream. On her feet and elbows.

The next day she came to me excited about the softness of her feet. The skin around her toes was actually soft. Curious, I tried it too. I know it says body cream and we’re not using it properly by applying it only on our feet and elbows but true enough, my skin felt softer and smoother by the morning. It reminds me of a time when I used petroleum jelly for my feet and wrapped it with thick socks to keep it warm. I did this when I was running regularly and built calluses on my sole. The petroleum jelly thing worked for some time.

The Essence of Beauty Body Cream worked every time. Every day, my skin gets softer and it looks very moisturized. I used to apply tons of lotion on my feet whenever I’ll be wearing sandal or anything that’s open because the skin around my toe nails tend to dry up easily. But with the body cream? No. I don’t need the lotion at day time.

I love the product! Sadly, I’m running out and when I checked, it’s sold at CVS. We don’t have CVS here in the Philippines and I have yet to find a shop that sells or delivers to the Philippines for free. The shipping fees are more expensive than the product! Totally not practical in my book. I love this body cream! In fact, I love it so much I don’t mind the very strong ginger-y smell at all. But I’m at a lost of what to use next after it’s gone.

Anyway, pros outweighs the cons in this one.
